The Acoustic Guitar Project Concert
Monday 26th March, The Bedford, Balham, free entry, doors 7.30pm
So excited that as the curator of the London Acoustic Guitar Project, I get to host, play and share the stage with 4 of the best songwriters this city has to offer. This concert is the culmination of The Acoustic Guitar Project in London; it will be a songwriter’s-circle where we’ll share the songs written during the project and talk about the process. Hope you can make it, it’s going to be a good one!
The Acoustic Guitar Project
The Acoustic Guitar Project (TAGP) is a global song-writing project taking place in 50 cities throughout the world and I am honoured to curate the London project. Each participating city has its own guitar and every season 5 new local musicians are chosen to participate by writing a song on their city's guitar. Each musician is challenged to write and record an original song on the city’s guitar in just one week. This particular season we decided to celebrate Women in Music and so we had 4 fantastic female singer-songwriters take part: @millyuptonmusic, @daisychuteofficial, @katewestall, @gdawsonmusic and I also participated myself. The culmination of the project is this concert, where you have a chance to hear the songs we wrote during the challenge! All 5 songwriters will debut the song they wrote on the guitar, talk a little about the process, and also play a couple of their own songs. Every musician who has taken part in the project has signed the guitar, and we will share the guitar for the concert.
You can preview the songs on the TAGP website:
