The Acoustic Guitar Project Concert
Tuesday 29th May, The Bedford, Balham, free entry, doors 7.30pm
We're back at The Bedford with this year's artists from the London Acoustic Guitar Project! The last concert was such a success that we're delighted to have been invited back to The Bedford for this songwriters' circle concert where I'll be hosting this year's 5 amazing participants in the project. They will share some of their songs, the song they wrote during their week with the London guitar and talk about the process.
The Acoustic Guitar Project (TAGP) is a global song-writing project taking place in 50 cities throughout the world and I am honoured to curate the London project. Each participating city has its own guitar and every season 5 new local musicians are chosen to participate by writing a song on their city's guitar. Each musician is challenged to write and record an original song on the city’s guitar in just one week. This season we had the fantastic Autumnmusic, Harry Quinn, Barry Locke, Nick Di Gregorio and Martha Paton. The culmination of the project is this concert, where you have a chance to hear the songs they wrote during the challenge! All 5 songwriters will debut the song they wrote on the guitar, talk a little about the process, and also play a couple of their own songs. Every musician who has taken part in the project has signed the guitar, and we will share the guitar for the concert.
You can preview the songs on the TAGP website:
